Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy administers Regional Forest and Fire Capacity Program funding in California’s Sierra-Cascade region. The program helps tribes, organizations, and collaboratives build capacity for forest and watershed health and wildfire resilience. Its goal is to foster forestry collaboratives across the region that can plan and work at a landscape scale.
Support can help groups grow through training, workshops, staffing, technical assistance, and formal agreements between collaborative members. It can also move projects toward their next stage through concept development, design, permitting, funding strategies, and grant writing. A pilot effort provides dedicated support for lower-capacity tribal partners to participate in regional resilience work.
