Description
The Washington State Department of Transportation’s Public Transportation Division administers this state-funded, competitive program. It supports local efforts to improve connections between counties and regional population centers while reducing transportation delay. WSDOT seeks projects that deliver public benefits quickly and reduce vehicle trips or vehicle miles traveled.
Funding supports vehicle and equipment purchases, capital construction, operating projects, and transportation demand management. Examples include expanded bus service, transfer centers, transit access improvements, park-and-ride facilities, and commute trip reduction programs. WSDOT evaluates reductions in delay, improved multimodal connectivity, project performance relative to cost and useful life, and readiness to deliver benefits.
