The Regional Studies Association (RSA) Fellowship Research Grant Scheme supports established researchers and long-term RSA members undertaking a clearly defined piece of regional studies and/or regional science research. Introduced in 2015, it aims to advance regional understanding through projects with identifiable outcomes. Funding may support a pilot study, exploratory work in niche or developing areas, or research leading to a larger future grant application.
Applicants should explain how their work contributes to the RSA’s prioritised research themes and provide dissemination plans for academic networks and policy and practice communities. The Association’s strategic priorities include championing high-quality regional research, strengthening knowledge networks, diversifying the regional studies community, and contributing to a just and sustainable future. Additional research themes beyond those listed by the RSA may also be included in applications.
