The Regional Studies Association (RSA) launched the Start-Up Grant Scheme to mark its 60th anniversary and strengthen regional and urban research capacity in emerging economies and the Global South. The scheme supports researchers in RSA membership Bands C and D, reflecting the Association’s commitment to advancing research globally and disseminating research evidence.
Funding can support access to data or literature, fieldwork travel and research assistance, research-related publication costs excluding article processing charges, and direct production costs such as printing, binding and distribution. The scheme also supports pilot studies that could contribute to larger research projects. These may explore conceptual, methodological or empirical questions, or policy impacts, on any topic relevant to regions or cities.
