Regional Touring Program supports presenting organizations with touring artist performances, exhibitions, and public outreach that expand arts access and deepen audience engagement across the Mid-America region.
Funder: Mid-America Arts Alliance
Due Dates: June 30, 2027 (Final rolling application deadline) | Six weeks before first public activity (when possible)
Funding Amounts: Up to $5,000 per project; up to $15,000 per organization per fiscal year; 1:1 cost share required

Key Information: The featured artist must be separate from the presenter and based in another state within the six-state region.
Description
Mid-America Arts Alliance’s Regional Touring Program, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, helps presenting organizations bring touring artists to their communities. It supports performances, exhibitions, and public programs across creative disciplines, including dance, folk and traditional arts, literature, music, opera, theater, and visual arts. Projects pair a featured presentation with an outreach activity, such as a workshop, master class, artist talk, or educational event.
The program aims to deepen audience engagement through exposure, interaction, and outreach. Projects must make an effort to engage underserved audiences whose access to the arts is limited by geography, economics, race or ethnicity, disability, or age. New initiatives and projects within an organization’s regular season may qualify, with in-person and interactive livestreamed programming eligible.
