Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources offers Regular Urban Forestry Grants to improve communities’ capacity to manage trees. The competitive program supports new, innovative work that develops sustainable urban and community forestry programs, rather than subsidizing routine forestry activities.
Projects must address community tree management, maintenance or education in Wisconsin cities, villages or other areas of concentrated development. Eligible activities include tree inventories, management plans, tree ordinances, planting, pruning, urban wood utilization, staff training and public outreach. DNR also provides guidance on planning and management topics, including planting specifications and emerald ash borer plans.
