Description
The Administration for Community Living’s National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research plans to fund one Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center focused on recreational, sport, and exercise technologies for people with disabilities. The center will conduct research and development toward technologies that promote exercise and health.
The broader RERC program aims to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act. It supports advanced engineering research and innovative technologies designed to solve particular rehabilitation problems or remove environmental barriers.
