The Rehabilitation Medicine Scientist Training Program (RMSTP) is a flagship initiative of the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) designed to cultivate the next generation of physician-researchers in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). RMSTP provides structured, longitudinal mentorship, networking, and research skills training to help participants develop and sustain successful research careers. The program is tailored for rehabilitation physicians at various career stages, offering guidance on research design, grantsmanship, and navigating the research environment, with the goal of increasing the number of independently funded rehabilitation physician-scientists.
