Description
The University of Maryland’s Reinforcement Grants, part of the Maryland Catalyst Fund, support activities critical to carrying out a proposed large-scale, externally funded research award when that award does not cover certain operational expenses. The grants are intended to build infrastructure for new center-level research awards, improve the productivity of major funded programs, and strengthen their competitiveness for future renewal.
The Maryland Catalyst Fund is overseen by the Vice President for Research and managed by the Research Development Office in coordination with UMD academic units and the Senior Vice President and Provost. Awards draw on Designated Research Initiative Fund contributions from faculty units and central resources.
