Description
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s Related-world Strategic Planning program brings Nations together to share tools, techniques, and experiences for planning collective futures. It treats strategic planning as an everyday practice rooted in Indigenous worldviews, relationships, and long-term directions for future generations—not simply a technical exercise.
Participants learn to create, implement, and evaluate strategic plans for their community, organization, board, or council. Practical approaches and templates support simple, executable plans addressing vision, mission, teachings, goals, and objectives. Elder guidance connects traditional and spiritual wisdom with the land and cultural teachings, while creative processes support plan development. Group work uses a youth centre business case to move from defining a vision through developing, presenting, reviewing, and actioning a plan.
