    Description

The Pirani Travel Award, administered by the Renal Pathology Society (RPS), helps junior faculty and renal pathology fellows participate in international scientific gatherings when financial barriers make travel difficult or impossible. It supports travel from the United States abroad, or from other countries to the United States, to attend an RPS-sponsored or endorsed course or meeting. Its focus is travel and meeting participation rather than direct funding of a research project.

The award honors Dr. Conrad Pirani’s legacy and contributions to renal pathology. It was established through a bequest in his will and subsequently supplemented by donations from RPS members. The program supports the Society’s broader commitment to improving and disseminating knowledge about the pathology and pathophysiology of renal disease, including research, training, and education.
