Description
The RRG Project Grant Program is administered by Montana DNRC’s Resource Development Bureau within the Renewable Resource Grant and Loan Program. It funds projects that measurably conserve, manage, develop, or preserve Montana’s renewable resources while providing direct public benefits. Supported work includes drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste improvements, irrigation rehabilitation, dam repair, stream restoration, soil and water conservation, forest enhancement, and renewable energy.
Funding can support feasibility, design, research and resource assessment studies, preparation of construction or rehabilitation plans, and construction, production, education or other implementation efforts. Eligible work also includes natural resource-based recreation, water storage, water-use efficiency, watershed maintenance, and farming practices that reduce agricultural chemical use. The program encourages projects implementing Montana’s State Water Plan.
