Description
The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) administers HOME funds for Louisiana to support affordable housing development. The HOME Rental Housing Program provides loans to developers to build, acquire, or rehabilitate affordable housing, supporting LHC’s mission to expand access to safe, affordable, energy-efficient housing for Louisiana residents. LHC identifies HOME as a program inexperienced developers may consider for their first housing development project.
Funding is distributed through a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) and a competitive process. Eligible HOME activities include building or rehabilitating rental housing, site acquisition or improvement, and demolition of dilapidated housing to make way for HOME-assisted development.
