Description
The Rental Housing Development (Multifamily) HOME Rental Housing Program, administered by the Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC), supports the creation and preservation of affordable multifamily rental housing throughout Louisiana. The program provides loans to affordable housing developers for the construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation of rental properties, with the goal of expanding access to safe, energy-efficient, and affordable housing for low-income residents. In addition to developer funding, the program also offers direct rental assistance to eligible individuals.
LHC manages and distributes federal HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds statewide, releasing resources via periodic Notices of Funding Availability (NOFAs). Funding is awarded competitively to qualified developers; assistance is not provided directly to individuals outside of rental assistance.
