Description
Cures Within Reach’s Patient Groups track supports interventional clinical repurposing trials at greater Chicago-area research institutions. Trials must address unsolved diseases affecting health disparities, pediatric patients, people with rare diseases, or veterans and active US military personnel, including those facing mental health conditions, PTSD, and brain injuries. Eligible therapies include drugs, devices, nutraceuticals, diagnostics, and combinations tested in new indications, either alone or alongside standard care.
The program strongly prefers proof-of-concept, pivotal, Phase I, and Phase IIA trials, while considering later-stage trials needing additional funding. Research may draw on preclinical evidence, real-world evidence, AI or machine-learning drug–disease matching, and clinical observations. Its goal is reproducible clinical impact and data that can support follow-on funding and further trials. Community-based partnerships are required for health disparities research.
