Description
The Rescue Squads Assistance Fund (RSAF) is a competitive matching grant program administered by the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS). It supports Virginia organizations involved in emergency medical services, including governmental and volunteer organizations that meet the program’s nonprofit-operation requirement. Funding is based on demonstrated need.
RSAF can help establish or improve EMS agencies, programs, and services; purchase or replace equipment and vehicles; and establish or improve EMS training programs. Eligible requests also include computers, EMS management programs, and projects benefiting recruitment and retention of EMS members. Separately, OEMS accepts emergency grant applications for needs arising from disasters or the loss or potential loss of critical equipment or services.
