The Ruth K. Broad Biomedical Research Foundation offers a year-long named award supporting graduate students undertaking high-priority, high-potential basic or translational research in neuroscience. The Foundation is a Duke University support corporation managed at Duke University Medical Center. This award emphasizes the quality of both the proposed science and the applicant.
Proposed work should address the underlying biology of nervous system function in health or disease. Research that could advance understanding of neurodegenerative disorders and their relationship to Alzheimer’s disease is viewed as a strength, but the award is not limited to projects directly addressing Alzheimer’s disease. International graduate students are eligible and encouraged to apply.
