Description
The American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) administers annual Research Awards to promote the work of academic scientists during their first four years in a tenure-track or equivalent research faculty position at a North American university. The program supports researchers’ own work as they begin their university faculty careers, with funds awarded to their universities in their names and reserved for their exclusive use.
Bruker, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Waters Corporation fully fund the awards. ASMS manages an independent selection process that is neither connected to nor influenced by these corporate funders. The program’s stated purpose is to promote academic research rather than prescribe particular research topics, methods, or outcomes.
