Description
Research Bridge Funding supports the continuation of focused research programs that have recently lost, or are about to lose, extramural funding despite efforts to renew or replace it. The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine (CCOM) provides support in collaboration with the faculty member’s department and the Office of the Vice President for Research.
The program prioritizes research with a strong likelihood of regaining external support. It sustains existing research activity through support for eligible personnel, limited animal costs, and limited supplies, rather than expanding personnel or purchasing equipment. Review considers publication productivity, critiques of the unfunded proposal, and a detailed plan to strengthen a revised or new application.
