This program offers bridge funding to faculty at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine (CCOM) whose research programs have recently lost or are about to lose external funding, despite active efforts to renew or replace that funding. The goal is to enable high-potential research projects to continue, strengthen future grant applications, and improve the likelihood of successful renewal. Funding is provided in collaboration with the faculty member’s department and the Vice President for Research’s office, with a strong emphasis on using internal advisory resources and scientific editing to maximize the chance of extramural grant renewal.
