Medical Research UK offers Research and Career Development Awards to UK-based mid-career researchers holding an active Medical Research Council (MRC) or Medical Research UK grant. These one-off awards complement the original funded project, supporting activities that strengthen the grant holder’s skills, professional networks and career development. The proposed use of funding must be clearly linked to that original grant.
Skills Training and Development Awards support training within researchers’ fields, collaboration and sharing expertise with researchers outside their own institutes. Conference Attendance Awards support participation in person or virtually, enabling researchers to build networks, establish collaborations, and present and discuss findings with peers before publication in scientific journals. Funding is restricted by research area, with opportunities covering several disease and health fields.
