Description
Fulbright Canada’s Research Chairs in Education provides pre-arranged university affiliations for scholars conducting research important to their host institution. The University of Calgary chair focuses on fanfiction for teaching language and literacy, including second-language learning and digital literacy. Vancouver Island University’s chair focuses on Indigenous education, reconciliation, indigenization, and Indigenous engagement.
Scholars may pursue independent or collaborative research, teach, guest lecture, mentor students, and contribute to faculty, curriculum, or program development. Hosts encourage participation in campus life and engagement with the broader community through public lectures and other activities. The exchange advances Fulbright’s mission of strengthening relationships between people in the United States and other nations and promoting international understanding and cooperation.
