The Strategic Research Council (SRC), an independent body within the Research Council of Finland, funds part-time programme directors to promote the societal impact of strategic research. Directors work with funded consortia to develop programme-level interaction, identify opportunities for collaboration and strengthen cooperation across programmes. Their leadership is funded separately from consortium research projects.
This opportunity is presented alongside the Strategic resources for the future (RESOURCES) programme, which addresses securing and responsibly using material and digital resources important to Finland’s future. The programme seeks stronger critical value chains, material self-sufficiency in Finland and the EU, and concrete research-based solutions developed through interaction with businesses, the public sector and other stakeholders. The 2027 programmes share the cross-cutting priority Data as power, addressing data quality, access, ownership, privacy and security within their research topics.
