Description
The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports education that complements formal research training, recruits individuals with specialty or disciplinary backgrounds into research careers, and improves understanding of research and its implications. PA-27-034 focuses on practical skills-development courses and curriculum or methods development aligned with participating NIH Institutes, Centers, and Offices.
Courses may be in-person, online, or hybrid and should provide innovative, evidence-based education with concrete research experience. Curriculum and methods projects may develop instructional approaches or computer-based tools adaptable by other organizations. Programs combining teaching and hands-on experiences or partnerships across disciplines and institutions are encouraged. Short courses may last one week or less through 12 weeks; curriculum development, testing, and dissemination preparation may take up to two years.
