Description
Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Research Fellowship supports excellent non-clinical researchers in the early stages of their careers to begin an independent project in a well-supported environment. It combines salary support and research costs with opportunities to develop specialist expertise, new skills and a distinct research niche, helping fellows progress towards independence. Senior established supervisors provide facilities, oversee the research programme and actively contribute to the fellow’s training.
Projects must fit the charity’s biomedical research remit in Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, including treatment, diagnosis and prevention. Basic preclinical and clinical research are within scope, with particular importance placed on translational potential to benefit people with or at risk of dementia. Care and service delivery research are excluded.
