Description
The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Research Fellowship Awards support individuals in the postdoctoral phase of their careers as they develop skills for independent basic or translational investigation in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Projects must address Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis and combine research with training and sustained mentorship from a senior investigator at the sponsoring institution.
The Foundation prioritizes research that advances understanding of disease interception, restoration of function, and remission to prevent relapse and disease progression. Preclinical projects must demonstrate relevance to human IBD mechanisms or explain why that relevance should not be a priority for the proposed work. Applicants should address a “Challenges in IBD” priority area or justify why another topic merits funding. Clinical research applicants are directed to separate clinical research opportunities.
