Description
Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library’s Research Fellowships provide funding and access for scholars, graduate students, and creative practitioners whose work engages with Winterthur’s extensive collections. The program encourages innovative research in material culture, decorative arts, and related fields, welcoming projects that complement or challenge prior scholarship. Fellows benefit from direct engagement with Winterthur’s library, museum, and garden resources, and the program supports both traditional academic research and creative work, including the Maker-Creator Fellowship for artists and creators.
Fellowships are available in several categories, including short-term, dissertation, postdoctoral, and Maker-Creator, as well as named fellowships in specialized areas. Remote fellowships are also offered to expand equitable access. The program is open to applicants from all career stages and particularly encourages applications from underrepresented communities and those offering critical perspectives on collections research.
