--- ## Description The Research Focus Grants from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) aim to support targeted, innovative, and potentially transformative studies that can inform and advance suicide prevention. The program features three distinct grant mechanisms: - **Short-term Risk Grants:** For implementation or dissemination science related to evidence-based assessments or interventions that reduce short-term suicide risk in clinical settings. - **Reaching 20% Grants:** For research on interventions that, if implemented on a large scale in healthcare, emergency, corrections, or gun-owning populations, could significantly reduce the U.S. suicide rate. - **Blue Sky Research Grants:** For highly innovative projects in new or untested areas of investigation with significant potential impact on the understanding and prevention of suicide.
