The EMDR Research Foundation supports post-doctoral students, university faculty, and clinicians conducting research on Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). The Research Grant Award funds study costs for projects that expand knowledge and strengthen EMDR practice. Collaborative partnerships between institution-affiliated researchers and practitioners or clinicians with EMDR expertise are encouraged and preferred.
The program values both qualitative and quantitative research, judging methodological quality by how effectively the chosen approach answers the research questions. Proposals are assessed for alignment with the Foundation’s research priorities, research-design standards, significance, and feasibility. The Foundation emphasizes rigorous, unbiased research, including well-designed randomized controlled trials and replication studies, and favors alignment with CONSORT reporting standards.
