--- ## Description The Spectrum Institute for Teaching and Learning (SITL) Research Grant Program funds research projects that deepen understanding and application of the Spectrum of Teaching Styles framework. The program is open to studies in any school subject-matter area, including physical education, classroom settings, mathematics, and more. Grants are intended to foster innovative research that may lead to larger, federally funded projects. SITL is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting research and implementation related to the Spectrum of Teaching Styles. --- ## Due Dates - March 30, 2024: Application Packet due date (submit all Application Packet documents) — SITL Research Grant Program (2024) - March 30, 2026: Application deadline (submit completed Application Packet) — SITL Research Grant Program (2026) --- ## Funding Amount - **$5,000 Awards** (FIVE available): Open to faculty and graduate students (masters and doctoral) - **$15,000 (3-year Award)** (ONE available): Open to doctoral students; must publish at least one of the proposed studies by the end of the third year - **$10,000 (1–2 year Award)** (ONE available): Open to faculty/postdoctoral students - **$15,000 (1–3 year Award)** (ONE available): Open to faculty/postdoctoral students - **$25,000 (1–3 year Award)** (ONE available): Open to faculty/postdoctoral students All awards are made payable to the principal researcher's institution. --- ## Eligibility - Research focus must be specific to the Spectrum of Teaching Styles and its theoretical constructs. - Studies may be in any school subject-matter area. - All application materials must be in English. - Principal researcher's institution must: - Be a non-profit organization (proof required: EIN for U.S. institutions; letterhead statement for non-U.S. institutions) - Have an established Institutional Review Board (IRB) - Have a Grants/Contracts Office or equivalent for financial tracking and reporting **Category-specific eligibility:** - $5,000 awards: Open to faculty and graduate students (masters and doctoral) - $15,000 (3-year): Doctoral students only (must publish at least one proposed study) - $10,000, $15,000, $25,000: Faculty/postdoctoral students --- ## Application Process 1. Prepare all required documents, including cover letter, application form, budget summary, research abstract, and (for students) a qualifications statement. 3. Submit all materials in English by the application deadline to the designated SITL contact (see below). 4. Applications are reviewed competitively; selection is based on project quality, significance to Spectrum research, and clarity. 5.
