Description
GBS/CIDP Foundation International funds projects that build knowledge of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), and related conditions, with the long-term goal of finding cures. Its interests include demyelinating and axonal GBS variants, Miller Fisher syndrome, and multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN). Supported work can address disease mechanisms, faster diagnosis, more effective treatment, prevention of complications, and reduction of lasting effects. The Foundation also identifies educational and communication programs for patients and families among its interests.
Discovery Awards support complex research questions, while Elevation Awards can fund smaller projects or parts of larger ones. The Foundation also describes an MMN-specific Elevation Award and a Benson Clinical Research Fellowship focused on inflammatory neuropathy and the study of peripheral nerves. For the 2027 research grant cycle, it is accepting letters of intent and applications only for Discovery and Elevation Awards.
