The Huntington’s Disease Foundation (HDF) Research Grants provide seed support for experienced researchers working in independent laboratories worldwide. The program helps investigators collect preliminary data needed to obtain major, long-term funding from other organizations, including the National Institutes of Health. Projects must directly address Huntington’s disease, with an emphasis on understanding fundamental disease mechanisms or advancing disease-modifying therapeutics.
HDF seeks innovative and impactful hypotheses, approaches, and findings that could advance understanding of disease pathogenesis, generate broadly useful tools or datasets, or produce new therapeutic strategies or candidate therapies. Its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) sets scientific priorities and selects projects for support, guided by scientific significance, a strong evidence base, rigorous experimental design, and feasibility within the proposed timeline and budget.
