Description
The LEO Foundation awards Research Grants through open competition to advance understanding of skin and its diseases. Projects may involve basic, translational, technical, epidemiological, or clinical research. The program welcomes work on skin biology and the medicinal, biological, chemical, or pharmacological mechanisms behind dermatological diseases and their symptoms.
It also supports research on clinical issues affecting people who have, or are at risk of developing, a skin disease, including effects on quality of life and societal costs. Clinical trials must be investigator-initiated: the applicant must conceive, conduct, and publish the study independently of commercial interests. The program has an international call for researchers worldwide and a European call for researchers based in Europe.
