Description
The Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) funds pioneering research to accelerate progress toward new treatments and a cure for Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS, or Progeria). PRF's grant program supports both investigator-initiated projects and proactive research needs identified by the foundation. Since 2000, PRF has catalyzed major scientific advances in Progeria, including the discovery of the disease-causing protein progerin and the development of the first regulatory-approved therapy. The program now operates through two pathways: (1) PRF proactively solicits research to address critical gaps, or (2) investigators submit brief abstracts for consideration; full proposals are requested by invitation only. PRF’s ongoing support has transformed the field, enabling a dramatic increase in Progeria-related scientific output and global collaboration.
