Description
The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) Research Grants Program provides seed and start-up funding for promising foot and ankle research. Funded through donations to the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation, the program has provided more than $2.5 million to AOFAS members and their research teams since 1997. Its goals include discovering new treatments, advancing patient care, and developing work that can support applications to national funding sources.
The program offers one-year Pilot Project, Small Project, and Established Project grants, with dedicated Resident and Early Career awards. Supported work ranges from preliminary investigations to innovative basic science, clinical trials, and pre-trial research. Recent funded projects address ankle fractures, Achilles tendon conditions, foot deformity, biomechanics, imaging, and surgical techniques.
