Description
Research Impulses is a German Research Foundation (DFG) programme for research consortia at research-oriented universities of applied sciences (HAW/FH). It supports institutions in concentrating and advancing existing research approaches, developing distinctive research profiles, and improving their competitiveness. Its central goal is to strengthen conditions for knowledge-driven research over the long term and better realise these institutions’ potential within Germany’s research system.
The programme is open to all scientific fields, including interdisciplinary research. Projects should demonstrate high scientific quality and originality, a demanding and well-founded work programme, and clear added value from collaboration. DFG also prioritises researchers’ qualifications, support for early-career researchers, gender equality, professional management, appropriate institutional core support, and a long-term perspective. Existing research strengths or new thematic priorities may be developed, supported by relevant preliminary work.
