Description
The Research in Periodontal Disease Award recognizes, encourages, and stimulates outstanding research achievements in periodontal disease and their translation through clinical research. Administered by the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) through its Distinguished Scientist Awards program, the award is supported by Colgate-Palmolive Company. It recognizes significant accomplishments in basic research, clinical research, or both.
Rather than funding a proposed project, the award honors established scientific achievements. Nominees must remain actively engaged in the line of research being recognized at the time of nomination. The IADR Science Awards Committee selects recipients from submitted nominations, and the award is announced at the Opening Ceremonies of the IADR General Session & Exhibition.
