Description
The International Association for Dental Research (IADR) offers this award through its Distinguished Scientist Awards program. Established to encourage and recognize outstanding research accomplishments in prosthodontics, the award expanded in 1990 to include implantology. It honors completed research accomplishments rather than supporting a proposed project.
The award emphasizes significant contributions to basic knowledge related to prosthodontics and implantology. Clinical studies qualify as worthy contributions when they are soundly supported by the basic sciences, making that scientific foundation central to the award’s scope. The IADR Science Awards Committee selects recipients, and the award is announced at the Opening Ceremonies of the IADR General Session & Exhibition.
