Description
The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s Research Infrastructure program invests in shared scientific resources that expand access to advanced technologies, accelerate discovery, and strengthen the Commonwealth’s life sciences ecosystem. It supports capital investments in equipment, hardware and software, and construction or renovation through three tracks: shared core facilities, incubators and accelerators, and clinical trial resources.
Unlike equipment grants primarily benefiting one laboratory or department, this program supports infrastructure accessible beyond the applicant institution. Priorities include unmet research needs, technologies not readily available elsewhere in Massachusetts, broad scientific impact, and sustained use by diverse academic and industry researchers. Projects should demonstrate institutional commitment, experienced management, operational readiness, and a sustainable operating model that supports research, innovation, and economic development after MLSC funding ends.
