Description
The NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium’s Research Initiation Grant supports faculty initiating or establishing support for research, including established faculty entering a new research area. The program aims to stimulate externally funded, NASA-sponsored research at West Virginia colleges and universities, strengthen research infrastructure at consortium member institutions, and foster long-term relationships between faculty and NASA researchers.
Projects must address scientific areas of interest to NASA and align with at least one NASA Mission Directorate. Relevance to West Virginia’s science and technology priorities also contributes to proposal evaluation. New faculty and STEM applicants are encouraged to apply. Collaboration with NASA researchers is highly encouraged but is not required.
