--- ## Description This award honors exemplary individuals in the field of sleep and circadian science for their leadership and dedication to mentoring early career researchers. The program aims to foster intellectual growth, talent development, advocacy, and community-building among mentees. Recipients are celebrated for their positive role modeling and commitment to advancing the field through impactful mentorship. --- ## Due Dates - November 2026: Nomination deadline (anticipated/projected) *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - $500 per recipient (one-time, non-renewable award) - Recognition is the primary benefit; no additional research or project funding is provided. --- ## Eligibility - Must be an active mentor in sleep/circadian science for at least 10 years. - Minimum rank of Associate Professor or equivalent, or responsibility for multiple funded research projects with evidence of sustainability (e.g., Research Director, Senior Scientist, Professor, Department/Division Chair). - Both self-nominations and nominations by others are accepted. **Ineligible:** - Current members of the AASM and AASM Foundation Board of Directors. - Current members of the AASM Foundation Research Career Development Committee. - Individuals located in, or operating from, countries subject to [U.S. OFAC sanctions](https://ofac.treasury.gov/sanctions-programs-and-country-information). --- ## Application Process - Nominations must be submitted through the [AASM Foundation Grant Online Portal](https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=aasmf). - Required materials: - Completed nomination form (self or by another individual). - Nominee’s CV (include a table of current/past mentees and their current positions, if not in CV). - At least two support letters from prior mentees (up to 2 pages each, PDF, Times New Roman 11 or 12 pt, minimum 0.5” margins).
