The Research Mentoring-Pair Travel Award (RMPTA) is designed to foster the research career development of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows interested in or pursuing research careers in communication sciences and disorders. Each applicant pairs with an experienced investigator (mentor) to participate in the Research Symposium at the ASHA Convention, engaging in collaborative learning, networking, and research-focused activities before, during, and after the event. Awardees receive travel stipends and ASHA Convention registration waivers, and participate in activities that enhance their professional development and exposure to current research in the field.
