    Description

The Regional Studies Association (RSA) Research Network Grant Scheme supports newly established and renewing networks that bring members together to examine issues relevant to the Association and the wider community. Introduced in 1985 as Working Groups, networks run workshops, conference sessions, webinars and collaborative projects. Topics need not have a direct policy focus, but their examination is expected to lead to policy-relevant conclusions.

The scheme welcomes research from any discipline that advances understanding of regions and regional development, from global megaregions to remote and peripheral places. It prioritises research with impact, critical approaches to data and methods, and theoretical and conceptual innovation. Networks should support the RSA Strategy 2026–30: high-quality regional research, stronger knowledge networks, a growing and more diverse regional studies community, and a just and sustainable future.
