Key Information: Textile history must be central to the research; workshop applicants must be based in UK universities or museums.
The Pasold Research Fund supports high-quality, medium-sized research across all branches of textile history, including dress and fashion history. It encourages projects with lasting outcomes, such as monographs, book contributions, series of articles, exhibitions or similar outputs. Conservation-related research leading to publications is also supported.
The programme also funds preliminary research and meetings to prepare larger applications to national and international funding bodies. This pump-priming support is assessed on the coherence and potential of the larger project. A further strand supports small themed workshops, prioritising multidisciplinary work, collaboration between universities and museums, and plans for publications or other long-term outcomes.
