The Real Estate Research Institute (RERI) funds research on real estate as an asset class, investment performance, and market fundamentals. The program seeks work that improves investment decision-making and combines academic rigor with practical value for institutional commercial real estate investors. Its major research themes include risk, globalization of capital flows, demographic shifts, technology, and environmental, social, and governance issues.
RERI welcomes academics, industry practitioners, and graduate researchers, with special consideration for dissertations, post-dissertation research, and proposals from non-tenured faculty. Interdisciplinary projects are welcome, and collaboration between academic researchers and industry professionals is strongly encouraged. Funded work contributes to research papers, practitioner-oriented summaries, and potential presentations at RERI’s annual research conference. Researchers are encouraged to submit completed papers to leading journals.
