Description
The Public Health Research Scholars Program, run by the Gilead Sciences Research Scholars Program, supports independent, early-career investigators pursuing innovative research on HIV and/or viral hepatitis B, C and D. It focuses on country-driven research priorities in eligible low- and middle-income countries, supporting sustainable development goals for people infected with or at risk for these diseases.
The program seeks research that addresses unmet patient needs, health inequities and gaps in scientific knowledge. It aims to broaden the voices and research topics contributing to global public health, including work in settings that might not typically receive funding. A Scientific Review Committee of global public health leaders selects proposals for their scientific merit, feasibility and innovation.
