Description
The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust supplements research start-up packages offered to new natural science faculty at private, predominantly undergraduate colleges and universities in its five-state Pacific Northwest region. The program supports institutions establishing new tenure-track faculty positions, helping them incorporate research funding into an offer to a candidate. Its focus is the institutional research environment, start-up support, and planned hiring process rather than evaluation of an already-selected candidate.
Eligible work includes natural science research in traditional science departments and laboratory or bench research within other departments.
