Description
This program provides financial support to private, predominantly undergraduate colleges and universities in the Pacific Northwest for the start-up costs associated with hiring new, research-active faculty in the natural sciences. The intent is to strengthen the research capacity and faculty development at these institutions by supplementing institutional start-up packages, enabling new faculty to establish sustainable research programs. The grant is open to both traditional natural science departments and interdisciplinary or non-natural science departments where lab/bench natural science research is conducted.
