    Description

The Research in Strategic Management Program is administered by the Strategic Management Society’s Strategy Research Foundation (SRF). It supports research on rotating themes central to strategic management. The 2025–2026 theme, “Growth in Focus: Strategy Across the Arc of Firm Evolution,” examines growth as a distinct aspect of strategic decision-making and execution, including its drivers, frictions, strategies, tradeoffs, and outcomes.

The call welcomes theoretical, empirical, and methodological research, including approaches using emerging data to capture growth dynamics. Illustrative topics include scaling entrepreneurial ventures, entering technologies and markets, renewing corporate portfolios, and managing growth through capabilities, partnerships, acquisitions, and human capital. Research may address individuals, firms, industries, or ecosystems. Proposals must explain their contribution to the thematic question and to strategic management scholarship.
