Description
The Society for the Study of Evolution (SSE) sponsors Research Synthesis Working Groups to bring diverse researchers together around emerging or synthetic themes of broad interest to its community. The groups are intended as launchpads for new ideas and sustained collaboration, rather than stand-alone symposia. Coordinated talks share ideas with the wider Evolution meeting community, while dedicated discussion, brainstorming, and collaborative writing connect participants’ contributions into a shared scholarly effort.
Groups are expected to continue collaborating after the meeting and pursue tangible scholarly outcomes, such as a journal special feature or a collectively developed opinion, perspective, or review article. Preference is given to proposals planning a synthetic review or special feature for SSE’s journals, Evolution Letters or Evolution. Both in-person and virtual formats are supported.
