Description
The Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Foundation (SAEMF) Research Training Grant supports the development of an emergency medicine researcher through two years of concentrated training and mentorship. Its emphasis is on learning research methodology and developing sound research skills, rather than funding a specific research project as the primary goal. The program encourages an academic research career and strengthens research training at the awardee’s host institution.
Strong mentorship and a rigorous training curriculum are central to the award. An aligned research project provides a foundation for the awardee’s academic development, involvement in emergency medicine research, and ability to compete for subsequent extramural funding. Awardees are expected to share their work at the SAEM Annual Meeting and publish a first-authored manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal.
