Description
The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) offers year-round residencies at Mt. San Angelo in Amherst, Virginia. The program supports writers, visual artists, composers, and artists working across disciplines, providing uninterrupted time for creative work within a community of peers. Supported fields span literature, performance, film, visual arts, and music composition.
Mt. San Angelo typically hosts 400 artists annually. Each residency includes a private studio, private bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and three prepared meals daily, alongside a community of more than 20 artists. Scheduling is flexible, with no minimum stay and requests accepted for up to six weeks; the average stay is 20 days. Fully funded fellowships and financial assistance help artists participate regardless of their ability to pay.
