Description
The AATS Cardiothoracic Resident Case Report Competition gives cardiothoracic surgery residents from around the world an opportunity to represent their institutions at the AATS Annual Meeting. Offered through the American Association for Thoracic Surgery Foundation, the program seeks new, original case studies describing interesting or unusual clinical situations, the issues encountered, and the approaches used to resolve them. Selected participants present in a mini-oral competition.
Cases may address novel procedures, surgical techniques, or difficult clinical problems across adult cardiac, congenital, and thoracic surgery. In addition to meeting participation and travel support, the competition offers an opportunity to submit original reports to JTCVS Techniques for publication consideration. Reports accompanied by video are strongly preferred for publication, and manuscripts undergo review by the JTCVS Editors and Editorial Board.
